MARK EVERETT B.SC. MRICS (RICS Diploma no: 0096523) & Registered Valuer
My name is Mark Andrew Everett and I have been a Professional Associate (Member) of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors ('RICS') since May 1995, having been awarded a Bachelor of Science in General Practice Surveying, in 1993. I am also a RICS Registered Valuer. This degree and professional qualification were achieved concurrently whilst working within the general practice surveying and valuation field, being predominantly based in Hertfordshire between 1988 and 1997.
After qualification in 1995, I became a partner and then sole proprietor of a small professional practice, Frank Morris Associates ('FMA'), which I expanded from a single office, employing 2 full time members of staff in an office in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, to a practice employing 10 persons, based between 1997 and 1999 in St. John's Wood and thereafter in South Kensington, London.
In January 2002, I negotiated and completed a merger of FMA, with the Cardoe Martin Holdings Group ('CMHG'), which had been formed after a management buy-out, by the former directors of the building surveying and project management team from JSS Pinnacle. I became a board Director of CMHG and Managing Director of a wholly owned subsidiary company, Frank Morris Associates Ltd ('FMAL'), which specialised in residential and commercial property survey and valuation and associated professional consultancy work from offices just off the Marylebone Road, in NW1. Whilst on the board, I lead the purchase of Winkworth Surveyors during 2002.
In May 2004, I purchased 100% shareholding in FMAL and Winkworth Surveyors from CMHG, after the decision was made to split CMHG down into core areas and returned to running an independent firm of chartered surveyors, focusing in specialist property consultancy to private clients. I have subsequently consolidated / merged all my surveying business interests into one company, M. A. Everett Surveyors Ltd and now act as an independent professional consultant on a wide range of property matters and to a diverse client base, including a number of property investment companies and freehold management companies, dealing with all matters relating to property disputes, enfranchisement / lease extensions, applications for Licence for Alterations, Party Wall Matters etc.
During my career in the property profession to date, I have gained considerable experience in all aspects of both residential and commercial property survey and valuation and many areas of associated consultancy work, including Planning, Landlord and Tenant, Party Wall, Lease Extension / Enfranchisement, Project Management and Development. I have also acted as an Expert Witness & Single Joint Expert in numerous litigation cases and Leasehold Valuation Tribunal* hearings (*now the 1st Tier Tribunal), concerning disputes over property valuation and building defects.
In addition, I also managed a residential property, consisting of four high value apartments in Eaton Place, SW1, one of London's most exclusive addresses, for over 15 years and was involved, as a Partner, in a residential estate agency in Hertford, as a consultant to a residential agency, in St. John's Wood.
I have been Contract Administrator, Party Wall Surveyor, professional consultant and / or Project Manager on numerous developments schemes, often involved from appraisal and design / planning application stage through to completion and have also undertaken a number of property developments on my own behalf.
Outside work, I played rugby for Saracens RFC and Hertford RFC and cricket for Hertford CC, Welwyn Garden City CC and Hertfordshire County Cricket 1st XI. I am also an MCC playing member. Current CEO of Hertfordshire Cricket. I also enjoy skiing and golf.
